I am Taranjot Walia, a dreamy small-town girl who always dreamt of getting married since childhood. When the time arrived, the world stood still, as the moment to turn my dream into reality had come. I found my prince charming in a tall, dark and handsome Himmat Singh whose based in London. The next step was to a plan a beautiful wedding. Let me give you an insight to my fairytale.

Himmat’s Nanaji and my Dadaji were friends and our families were acquaintances. Both our families were looking for suitable matches. That is when one of our common family friends suggested our families to each other. Himmat flew down to India with his parents, and when we met, there was in instant click, and that is when we decided to take things forward.

Every time we met the feeling was ‘Surreal’.

I always wanted my wedding to be Bollywood style and Himmat wanted a traditional Royal wedding and Udaivillas served both of our purposes. Also, we wanted our family and friends to enjoy the wedding functions without getting worried about the work that comes along with a local wedding. As most of our guests were coming from around the world, we wanted to give them a glimpse of our country – India.  So, all of our destination wedding was inspired by various Indian cultures. The Mehendi function was inspired by Rajasthani culture with the focus on ‘Panchranga’. Our Sangeet was an eclectic mix of both of our backgrounds. We had a traditional rooted ‘Sikh Wedding’. We bid adieu to Udaipur with our Sufi inspired Gala Dinner.
